Makikihi School has  a strong tradition of preparing children for success in life since 1881.

  • Sound education with emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy (reading, writing and mathematics).
  • Key Competencies are taught to challenge and support students within the daily programme.
  • Healthy learning environment with modern classrooms and excellent recreational facilities.
    Small class size and teacher aide support ensure individual student needs are met.
  • Te Reo Maori me nga Tikanga is integrated throughout programmes in authentic ways.
  • High level of community support.
    Education Outside the Classroom (day trips & camps) are a strong feature of our programme.
